                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 24, 2017      TO: Honorable Jodie Laubenberg, Chair, House Committee on Elections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB384 by Murphy (Relating to documentation of proof of identification for voting.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code relating to documentation of proof of identification for voting. The Secretary of State and Department of Public Safety estimate there would be a cost to implement provisions of the bill; this analysis assumes that the cost could be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
