A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the requirement that a political party's county
executive committee hold open meetings.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 171, Election Code, is
amended by adding Section 171.0211 to read as follows:
Sec. 171.0211. OPEN MEETINGS. Meetings of a county
executive committee are subject to Chapter 551, Government Code.
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
to a meeting held on or after September 1, 2017.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
