                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 8, 2017      TO: Honorable John Whitmire, Chair, Senate Committee on Criminal Justice      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB418 by White (Relating to certain duties of the Commission on Jail Standards regarding guidelines for the transportation of inmates by private vendors.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to direct the Texas Commission on Jail Standards to adopt rules and procedures related to the transportation of inmates by private vendor. The Texas Commission on Jail Standards anticipates any additional work resulting from the provisions of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.  Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
