The bill would amend the Government Code to direct the Texas Commission on Jail Standards to adopt rules and procedures related to the transportation of inmates by private vendor. The Texas Commission on Jail Standards anticipates any additional work resulting from the provisions of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
