The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to waiver of immunity in certain employment discrimination actions in connection with a workers' compensation claim. The Office of the Attorney General anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact According to the Texas Municipal League, there will be an indeterminate fiscal impact on local governments as it is unknown how many claims will be filed.
