The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to reporting requirements for the College Credit for Heroes program. The bill would require the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) to report the number of academic or workforce education semester credit hours and transfer credit hours awarded under the program and applied toward a degree or certification program at an institution of higher education. Based on the LBB's analysis of TWC and Higher Education Coordinating Board, this analysis assumes the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Based on information provided by the Texas A&M University System Administration, The University of Texas System Administration, and Texas Tech University System Administration, the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
