The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to allow a business owner or operator that allows the licensed carry of handguns on the premises of which the carrying of a handgun is not otherwise unlawful is immune from any civil liability based on the owner's failure to forbid the carrying of handguns on the premises by customers or employees. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration and the Department of Public Safety, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
