                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 19, 2017      TO: Honorable Joe Straus, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB516 by Israel (Relating to the requirement that drivers younger than a certain age complete and pass a driver education course. ), As Passed 2nd House    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Education Code and Transportation Code relating to the requirement that drivers younger than a certain age complete and pass a driver education course. According to the Comptroller of Public Accounts, no significant impact to state revenue is anticipated. Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
