The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to authorize an acquitted individual, or an attorney for the state, to request an expunction order. The bill would require the attorney for the state to prepare the order of expunction for the court's signature. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing this bill could be absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal impact to local courts is anticipated.
