 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to a temporary license to practice medicine.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 155, Occupations Code, is
 amended by adding Section 155.1045 to read as follows:
 Sec. 155.1045.  RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF TEMPORARY LICENSE
 HOLDER. Notwithstanding any other law, the holder of a temporary
 license issued under Section 155.104(a) has the same rights and
 obligations as imposed by the laws of this state on the holder of a
 permanent unrestricted license issued under this chapter,
 including prescriptive authority.
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
