                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 19, 2017      TO: Honorable Byron Cook, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB826 by Blanco (Relating to an annual report on the financial impact of undocumented immigrants on the state budget and economy.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require the Comptroller, by September 1 of each year, to publish an annual report providing a comprehensive financial analysis of the impact of undocumented immigrants on the state budget and economy. The bill would require the Comptroller to apply the methodology used for the Comptroller's December 2006 report titled "Undocumented Immigrants in Texas: A Financial Analysis of the Impact to the State Budget and Economy." The first report would be due on September 1, 2018.The office of the Comptroller estimates there would be a cost associated with producing the report. It is assumed that the cost could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
