                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 11, 2017      TO: Honorable Roland Gutierrez, Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB829 by Blanco (Relating to leave for certain veterans returning to state employment.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code relating to leave for certain veterans returning to state employment. The Veterans Commission, the Comptroller of Public Accounts and the Department of Criminal Justice have indicated that any costs associated with implementing the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.  Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
