                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 23, 2017      TO: Honorable Gary Elkins, Chair, House Committee on Government Transparency & Operation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB839 by Ortega (Relating to the availability under the public information law of information contained in a bid or proposal after a contract is executed or awarded.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to make certain non-disclosure provisions inapplicable to information contained in a bid or proposal after the contract to which the bid or proposal relates is awarded or executed. The Office of the Attorney General anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
