The bill would amend the Education Code as it relates to governing boards of public junior college districts. The bill would allow a board of trustees to provide a resolution, no later than the 180th day before the date of an election, that a candidate must receive a plurality vote for a position on a junior college board of trustees. This analysis assumes that any costs associated with the provisions of the bill could be covered with institutional funds. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
