R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
of Linda Marcia Howerton of Cypress, who passed away on March 16,
2017, at the age of 66; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Reuben and Marion Luttinen, the
former Lyn Luttinen was born on November 1, 1950, in Mount Clemens,
Michigan, and grew up with the companionship of her sister and
three brothers; after moving to Texas as a young woman, she wed Guy
Howerton on March 18, 1978, and they shared a rewarding union that
spanned nearly four decades; and
WHEREAS, Although she had served as an undercover detective
during the 1970s, Mrs. Howerton devoted most of her life to caring
for her home and raising her three beloved children, Krysten,
Jason, and Matthew; in her leisure hours, she enjoyed playing pool
and earned a reputation as one of the best billiards players around;
and
WHEREAS, Lyn Howerton led a life that was rich in the
intangibles that matter most, and she is deeply missed by all who
held her dear; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Linda Marcia
Howerton and extend deepest condolences to her relatives and
friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lyn
Howerton.
