H.R. No. 1406 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at the tragic loss of Journey Ann Magness, who passed away on December 1, 2016, at the age of seven; and WHEREAS, Born on June 17, 2009, Journey was adopted by her devoted parents, Kim and David Magness, when she was five years old; she took joy in the companionship of her twin brother, Lleyton, her older brother, Chase, and her older sisters, Tricia, Sarah, Kristina, and Lacee, and she had a niece, Baylynn, who was like a sister to her; and WHEREAS, At the time of her passing, Journey was a second grade student at Lansberry Elementary School in Trinity, where she loved her teachers and enjoyed getting together with her friends; blessed with a wide, beaming smile and an irrepressible laugh, she had a natural exuberance for life that was readily apparent to everyone around her, and some of her favorite activities were reading and playing on the swings; more than anything, she adored her family, including her cherished dog, Olaf; and WHEREAS, Although the loss of this precious little girl is difficult to bear, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she leaves behind an enduring legacy of love that will never be forgotten; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Journey Ann Magness and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her passing; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Journey Ann Magness.
