No. 1450 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The city of Graham lost an esteemed civic leader with the passing of Spencer Boyd Street III on July 29, 2016, at the age of 49; and WHEREAS, The son of Spencer Street Jr. and Carole Street, Spencer Street III was born on November 8, 1966, in Fort Worth; following his graduation from Graham High School, he completed his bachelor's degree at Trinity University, where he was a member of the Bengal Lancers fraternity and the school's football team; he later received a master's degree in petroleum geology from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and went on to own and operate the oil and gas enterprise S. B. Street and Company; and WHEREAS, A dedicated public servant, Mr. Street was in his third term on the Graham City Council and held the office of mayor pro tempore at the time of his passing; he was a member of the Graham Rotary Club, and he was also an Eagle Scout and a scoutmaster; and WHEREAS, Mr. Street married the former Joni Watson on June 24, 2006, and the couple became the proud parents of three daughters, Gracie, Ava, and Tinka, and a son, Spencer; sustained by a deep and abiding faith, Mr. Street attended the First United Methodist Church in Graham; and WHEREAS, Spencer Street was a devoted family man and a significant asset to his community, and his commitment to his loved ones and to the city of Graham will be remembered and admired for years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Spencer Boyd Street III and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Joni Street; to his daughters, Gracie, Ava, and Tinka Street; to his son, Spencer Street IV; to his mother, Carole Street; to his sisters, Susan Skidmore and her husband, Roger, Mary Street, and Sarah Curd and her husband, Bo; to his aunts, Louise Witkowski and Marjorie Cummings; to his uncles, Buddy Grisham and his wife, Suzette, and Gail Grisham; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Spencer Street.
