 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family, friends, and colleagues are joined by
 citizens across Texas in mourning the tragic loss of Assistant
 Chief Deputy Clinton Greenwood of the Harris County Precinct 3
 Constable's Office, who died on April 3, 2017, at the age of 57; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Clint Greenwood was born on
 December 22, 1959, to George and Mary Katherine Greenwood; he
 attended Rice University, where he played on the Owls football team
 and earned his bachelor's degree in 1983, and he earned a juris
 doctor degree from South Texas College of Law in 1986; he began his
 career with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, and in
 1989, he established a law practice focused on representing police
 officers in criminal matters; and
 WHEREAS, In 2009, after operating the firm for two decades,
 Mr. Greenwood was hired as the police integrity division chief of
 the Harris County District Attorney's Office; four years later, he
 transferred to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, where he served
 as commander of the Office of Inspector General and the Internal
 Affairs and General Investigations Divisions; his superb
 performance in those roles led to his appointment as assistant
 chief deputy with the Harris County Precinct 3 Constable's Office
 on January 1, 2017; a graduate of the FBI National Academy, he also
 gave back to the law enforcement community as an instructor at the
 Houston Police Academy, the Texas Department of Public Safety
 Academy, and several other agencies across the country; and
 WHEREAS, Chief Greenwood enjoyed a rewarding family life with
 his wife, Leatha, and four children, Charles, Timothy, Catherine,
 and Lauren; and
 WHEREAS, Although tragedy has brought an untimely end to a
 life of honorable public service, Clint Greenwood will long be
 remembered for his devotion to his loved ones, his contributions as
 both an attorney and a peace officer, and his longtime dedication to
 the people of Harris County; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Assistant Chief
 Deputy Clinton Greenwood and extend heartfelt condolences to his
 family, his friends, and his fellow officers; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Clinton
 Greenwood.
