No. 1850 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Landry Kate Robinson of Abilene, whose bravery and grace captured the hearts of countless people, passed away on April 16, 2017, at the age of 14; and WHEREAS, Born in Abilene on February 21, 2003, Landry was the cherished daughter of Kory and Shannon Robinson; shortly after her sixth birthday, she was diagnosed with brain cancer, and her battle with the disease would last for eight years; through it all, she proved herself a fighter in the face of every challenge she met, and she never lost her sense of hope or her joy for life; and WHEREAS, A vibrant young woman, Landry was a fan of all things pink, purple, and frilly, and she had a special flair for decorating; she drew strength and comfort from her faith and from the affection of her loving family and friends, and she also inspired an outpouring of support from numerous well-wishers, including members of the Wylie High School community, who held fund-raisers and prayer services in her honor; and WHEREAS, With her warmth, kindness, and indomitable spirit, Landry Robinson brightened the lives of everyone around her and showed them the true meaning of courage, and she will always be remembered with love and admiration by those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Landry Kate Robinson and extend deepest condolences to the members of her family: to her parents, Kory and Shannon Robinson; to her brother, Campbell Robinson; to her grandparents, Lucy Kay Robinson and Robert and Nancy Stoll; to her great-grandfather, Chester Young; to her uncles and aunts, Perry and Stacey Robinson, Ashley and Carla Robinson, Jason and Amber Ratliff, and Nic Stoll; to her cousins, Lexi and Parker Robinson, Payton, Kayl, Phoenix, and Bekah Ratliff, and Kayla and Keegan Copher; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Landry Robinson.
