H.R. No. 1868
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The members of the Tuloso-Midway High School
accounting team distinguished themselves with their performances
at the 2017 University Interscholastic League District 30-5A
Academics Spring Meet; and
WHEREAS, In an impressive demonstration of skill and
knowledge, the team accumulated a total of 471 points, earning the
district championship and the opportunity to move on to the
regional meet; in the individual competition, Rush Hoelscher placed
second and will advance to regionals, and Joseph Muzquiz placed
fifth; teammates Wayde Adler and Kamlyn Cooper placed 11th and
14th, respectively; the team was ably guided by coach Debby Hughes
and also received valuable contributions throughout the year from
members Azalia Jones and Johnathan Muniz, who will participate in
the regional contest; and
WHEREAS, With their efforts in the UIL district competition,
these bright young Texans have proudly represented Tuloso-Midway
High School, and the dedication they have demonstrated is sure to
serve them well in the years ahead; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Tuloso-Midway
High School accounting team on their participation in the 2017 UIL
District 30-5A Academics Spring Meet and extend to them sincere
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
