R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Marissa Guerra has been presented with a Rising Star
Award from the Project GRAD program at Texas A&M University--Corpus
Christi; and
WHEREAS, Project GRAD is part of the university's Programs
for Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the
goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income,
first-generation, and underrepresented students; in receiving a
Rising Star Award, Ms. Guerra was recognized for making
considerable improvement both in her academic achievements and in
meeting the program's requirements; and
WHEREAS, A student in Project GRAD's Summer Prep Academy,
Ms. Guerra is a freshman education major who aspires to a career
working with children; and
WHEREAS, Marissa Guerra is indeed deserving of this
prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with
promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Marissa Guerra on her receipt of a
Project GRAD Rising Star Award and extend to her sincere best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Guerra as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
