 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, It's Going To Be Ok, Inc., is holding its Stop the
 Traffick 5K Walk/Run in Dallas on June 10, 2017; and
 WHEREAS, This nonprofit organization was founded by Tonya
 Stafford, a survivor of human trafficking who has dedicated her
 life to providing hope and healing to others who have experienced
 similar exploitation; in her advocacy efforts, she has testified
 before the Texas House Committee on Homeland Security and Public
 Safety, supporting the successful passage of House Bill 2290, which
 designated January as Human Trafficking Prevention Month; in all
 her endeavors, she is guided by her mission to serve as a champion
 for survivors and as a voice for those who are no longer here to
 speak for themselves; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Stafford formed IGTBOK with the vision of
 creating a just world where women, children, and all vulnerable
 adults are safe, respected, and valued; with a focus on targeting
 human trafficking and cyber exploitation in Dallas County and
 beyond, IGTBOK carries out its mission by collaborating with
 students, educators, law enforcement, health care workers,
 community leaders, and faith-based communities to promote
 education, research, and support for victims; and
 WHEREAS, Often hidden in plain sight, human trafficking preys
 on the most vulnerable, but awareness and advocacy can serve as
 important weapons in the struggle to end this heinous crime and
 enable survivors to move forward with their lives; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby honor It's Going To Be Ok on the occasion of its
 Stop the Traffick 5K Walk/Run in Dallas and commend Tonya Stafford
 and her allies for their courageous work in behalf of this important
 cause; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
