 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Texas Cattle Feeders Association is celebrating
 the 50th anniversary of its founding in 2017; and
 WHEREAS, Established in 1967, the organization represents
 the economic, political, and social interests of the cattle feeding
 industry in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico; together, these states
 market more than 6 million fed cattle each year, making up nearly 30
 percent of U.S. production; and
 WHEREAS, The association provides valuable resources for its
 members, including information regarding government relations,
 markets, education and certification opportunities, environmental
 services, employee safety, communications, research, and youth
 programs; and
 WHEREAS, The TCFA is ably operated by staff members Ross
 Wilson, Ben Weinheimer, Shannon Standley, Christie Culp, Josh
 Winegarner, Brady Miller, Matt Davis, Carmen Fenton, Christopher
 Topliff, Michael Massey, Cynthia Riojas, Laura Cook, Kristi
 Gillispie, Rachel Hernandez, and Scena Snider, and it further
 benefits from the wisdom and expertise of the members of its board
 of directors: Jim Lovell, Jason Peeler, Levi Berry, Clay Allen,
 Scott Anderson, Cee Arnett, David Baumann, Jody Bellah, Michael
 Bezner, William Bransgrove, Paul Defoor, Blain Ferris, Ben Fort,
 Tyler Keeling, Tom McDonald, Steve Olson, Joe Richards, Jimmy
 Schwertner, Kynan Sturgess, and Dwayne Thompson; and
 WHEREAS, For half a century, the Texas Cattle Feeders
 Association has contributed to the growth, vitality, and prosperity
 of the cattle industry in the Lone Star State, and it is a pleasure
 to join in recognizing this exemplary organization on this special
 milestone in its history; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Texas House of Representatives hereby
 commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Texas Cattle Feeders
 Association and extend to all those involved with the group sincere
 best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
