H.R. No. 2464
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Graduation from high school is one of life's pivotal
milestones, and Genesis Holguin is celebrating that significant
achievement as a member of the Class of 2017 at the Americas High
School Libertas Academy in El Paso; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Holguin is among the students who have completed
their secondary education in the academy's Advanced Academics
Program, which features specialized curricula focused on law,
government, and public administration; and
WHEREAS, The granddaughter of Maria Saenz and Lorenzo Saenz,
Ms. Holguin is a member of Key Club, and she was a state qualifier
for mock trial; in addition, she medaled in the Texas Academic
Decathlon competition and participated in the UIL Ready Writing
contest; a well-rounded student, she is also involved in advanced
audio and video production, helping to produce a YouTube news show;
she plans to major in marketing in college and eventually pursue a
law degree; and
WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this
outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join her family and
friends in recognizing her as she embarks on a future bright with
promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Genesis Holguin on the occasion of
her graduation from the Americas High School Libertas Academy and
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Holguin as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
