R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jacob Ian Snyder of Mabank High School won the 4A
Lincoln-Douglas Debate championship title at the University
Interscholastic League 2017 Speech State Tournament, held May 22-23
at The University of Texas at Austin; and
WHEREAS, Competing against some of the most talented students
in Texas, Mr. Snyder gave an outstanding performance to earn first
place at the state contest; the triumph was the culmination of an
exemplary season in which he also excelled at the district level and
received the Region 2 LD debate title; and
WHEREAS, Through his skill, hard work, and commitment to
excellence, Jacob Ian Snyder has distinguished himself in statewide
competition, and he may reflect with pride on a job well done; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jacob Ian Snyder on winning the UIL
4A Lincoln-Douglas Debate state championship and extend to him
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Snyder as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
