No. 262 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Scott Brady of Humble was presented with the 2016 Haden McKay, M.D., Citizen of the Year Award by the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce on January 20, 2017; and WHEREAS, This prestigious award is given annually to local residents who have performed selfless public service on their own time rather than in the regular course of their professional lives; and WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Mr. Brady earned his bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Houston and has worked as an architect for a quarter century; he is a partner with Joiner Architects and a member of many professional organizations, including the Association for Learning Environments, a nonprofit that works to improve the academic performance of students through study of the environments created by educational facilities; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brady is also active with such community organizations as the Rotary Club of East Montgomery County, the Lake Houston Area and Greater East Montgomery Chambers of Commerce, the Humble ISD Education Foundation, and the Lake Houston Family YMCA; he served in 2015 and 2016 as chair of the Heart Walk, which raises awareness about heart disease and stroke, and he has also chaired the Humble High School Alumni Association Scholarship Golf Tournament; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Brady enjoys the love and support of a fine family that includes his wife, Tracy, and his three daughters, Amber, Heather, and Jessica; and WHEREAS, The selfless efforts of community leaders help make the Lone Star State an even better place in which to live, and residents of the Lake Houston region are indeed fortunate to count Scott Brady among their fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Scott Brady on his receipt of the 2016 Haden McKay, M.D., Citizen of the Year Award from the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Brady as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
