R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The creation of Christus Good Shepherd Health System
in February 2017 has opened new horizons for the provision of health
care services in East Texas; and
WHEREAS, This new nonprofit organization is the result of a
merger between Christus Health and the Gregg County-based Good
Shepherd Health System; one of three Christus health systems in the
region, Christus Good Shepherd encompasses a major medical center
in Longview that is the largest employer in the city and a sister
hospital in Marshall, as well as more than 30 clinics and other
satellite facilities; and
WHEREAS, Health care is essential to the well-being of every
man, woman, and child in the Lone Star State, and Christus Good
Shepherd Health System promises to be an invaluable asset to the
East Texas community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the establishment of the Christus
Good Shepherd Health System and extend to all those associated with
the organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the system as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
