The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to require the Health and Human Services Commission to issue a technical memorandum providing guidance on the interpretation of minimum life safety code standards as they apply to Assisted Living Facilities at least twice each year. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Based on the LBB's analysis of the Health and Human Services Commission, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
