                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 10, 2017      TO: Honorable Larry Taylor, Chair, Senate Committee on Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1220 by Miles (Relating to ensuring continuity of education and access to higher education, career information, and skills certification for foster care youth and former foster care youth.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Education Code and Family Code relating to ensuring continuity of education and access to higher education, career information, and skills certification for foster care youth and former foster care youth. This analysis assumes that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.The bill would take effect immediately upon a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house, otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
