The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to direct a district judge to summon a number of prospective grand jurors based on an amount that the judge considers necessary to ensure an adequate number of jurors and modifies the qualifications to serve as a grand juror. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
