The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the office of ombudsman for the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). Based on information provided by DFPS, it is assumed that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
