                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 19, 2017      TO: Honorable Dan Patrick, Lieutenant Governor, Senate      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB213 by Menéndez (Relating to the office of ombudsman for the Department of Family and Protective Services.), As Passed 2nd House    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.This Act takes effect only is a specific appropriation for the implementation of the Act is provided in a general appropriations act of the 85th Legislature.  The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the office of ombudsman for the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). Based on information provided by DFPS, it is assumed that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
