The bill would amend Transportation Code §228.201, regarding certain limitations on toll facility designation, to specify that the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) may only consider a general-purpose lane and not a lane of frontage road when determining compliance with the requirements of §228.201(a)(3). The provisions of the bill would apply only to a highway reconstruction in accordance with §228.201(a)(3) that is begun on or after the effective date of the bill. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017.TxDOT indicates that implementation of the bill would not result in significant fiscal implications to the agency or the State. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
