                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 12, 2017      TO: Honorable Craig Estes, Chair, Senate Committee on Natural Resources & Economic Development      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB400 by Kolkhorst (relating to the verification of information provided to the comptroller and contained in reports on compliance with agreements under the Texas Economic Development Act.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require a recipient or former recipient of a limitation on appraised value under Chapter 313 of the Tax Code to contract with an independent certified public account to verify data certified to the Comptroller. According to the Comptroller and Workforce Commission, any costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
