The bill would amend the Government code to align membership in the Employment-First Task Force reflecting the consolidation of services provided by the former Department of Aging and the Disability Services (DADS) and the former Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) into the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). The bill would abolish the Employment-First Task Force September 1, 2021, and direct the task force to meet on a quarterly basis and provide state agencies with guidance for implementing the task force's recommendations. The bill would take effect August 31, 2017.Based on the Legislative Budget Board's analysis of the entities composing the Employment-First Task Force, duties and responsibilities associated with aligning membership, meeting quarterly, and providing guidance to state agencies could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
