                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 23, 2017      TO: Honorable John Whitmire, Chair, Senate Committee on Criminal Justice      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB47 by Zaffirini (Relating to a study on the availability of information regarding convictions and deferred dispositions for certain misdemeanors punishable by fine only.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to require the Office of Court Administration to conduct a study to determine how records for misdemeanors punishable by fine only, other than traffic offenses, are held by the local courts. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
