The bill would add Section 42.006(a-2) to the Texas Education Code directing the Commissioner of Education to by rule require each school district and open-enrollment charter school report through the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) information regarding the availability of school counselors at each campus. According to the Texas Education Agency sufficient data is currently being collected to meet the requirements of the bill.
