                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 5, 2017      TO: Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB506 by West (Relating to voting system equipment used by counties participating in the countywide polling place program.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code relating to voting system equipment used by counties participating in the countywide polling place program. The Secretary of State assumes any additional work associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house or on September 1, 2017.  Local Government Impact According to the Texas Association of Counties, the fiscal impact to counties to implement the provisions of the bill is not anticipated to be significant.
