The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to require a person to complete a minimum of four hours of family violence dynamics training developed in consultation with a statewide family violence advocacy organization to qualify for an appointment as an impartial third party in a dispute relating to the parent-child relationship. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, Office of the Attorney General, and Health and Human Services Commission, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
