                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 6, 2017      TO: Honorable Eddie Lucio, Jr., Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB554 by Kolkhorst ( Relating to notice requirements for certain special districts that hold board meetings outside the district.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Water Code requiring a special district that does not have a meeting place inside the district to include in the required notice a description of the petition process. The provisions of the bill would apply only to the notice for the district's first meeting of each calendar year.The bill would go into effect September 1, 2017.
