                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 15, 2017      TO: Honorable Larry Taylor, Chair, Senate Committee on Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB579 by Taylor, Van (Relating to the use of epinephrine auto-injectors on private school campuses and at or in transit to or from off-campus school events.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would apply existing regulations governing epinephrine auto-injectors to private schools. Under existing law, these regulations only apply to public and charter schools.The bill would take immediate effect if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house of the Legislature. Otherwise it would take effect September 1, 2017. It would apply beginning with the 2017-18 school year. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
