The bill would amend the Business and Commerce Code to require a sexually oriented business to post in each toilet stall a sign directing a victim of human trafficking to contact the National Human Trafficking Resource Center. The bill provides for the Office of the Attorney General to create the rules for design and content of the sign. The Office of the Attorney General anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017, except for the provision of the bill which would create a criminal penalty, which would take effect March 1, 2019.
