ANALYSIS S.B. 825 amends the Education Code to replace the requirement that a public school district, each year and at state cost, administer to students in 8th grade and in 10th grade a preliminary college preparation test with an authorization for a district to administer such a test to those students. The bill applies beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. EFFECTIVE DATE On passage, or, if the bill does not receive the necessary vote, September 1, 2017.
