                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 27, 2017      TO: Honorable Charles Schwertner, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB850 by Huffines (Relating to the mandatory spinal screening of public and private school students.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code relating to the mandatory spinal screening of public and private school students. The Department of State Health Services and the Health and Human Services Commission indicate that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
