                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 22, 2017      TO: Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB859 by Hughes (Relating to the membership of the Texas Racing Commission.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Texas Racing Act to increase the number of Governor appointed members of the Texas Racing Commission (TRC) from seven to eight and remove the Comptroller of Public Accounts or the Comptroller's designee as an ex officio member of the TRC.Based on the information provided by the TRC, it is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
