The bill would amend the Texas Racing Act to replace the Comptroller of Public Accounts or the Comptroller's designee with the Commissioner of Agriculture or the Commissioner's designee as an ex officio member of the Texas Racing Commission.The Texas Racing Commission and Department of Agriculture indicate that any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
