                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 8, 2017      TO: Honorable Jodie Laubenberg, Chair, House Committee on Elections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB957 by Campbell (Relating to the numbering of propositions on the ballot.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code requiring each political subdivision's proposition on the ballot be assigned a unique number. The Secretary of State would be required to prescribe procedures to implement the provisions of the bill.The Secretary of State estimates any fiscal impact can be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
