The bill would amend the Election Code requiring each political subdivision's proposition on the ballot be assigned a unique number or number. The Secretary of State would be required to prescribe procedures to implement the provisions of the bill.The Secretary of State estimates any fiscal impact can be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives the requisite two-thirds vote of the membership of each house of the Legislature, otherwise it would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
