SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 909 In Memory of Jake Frederick WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of United States Marine Corps Captain Jake Frederick, who died in the line of duty on December 8, 2016, at the age of 32; and WHEREAS, Jake "Red Stripe" Frederick was an exemplary citizen and a devoted Marine whose courage, deep faith, and dedication to duty were an inspiration to all those who had the privilege of sharing in his life; and WHEREAS, Captain Frederick was commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps after earning a degree in petroleum engineering at The University of Texas at Austin; he served with distinction for eight years and was deployed with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 115 when he gave his last full measure of devotion in service to the country he loved; and WHEREAS, Jake Frederick was a devout Christian who practiced his faith in his daily life, and he was a fine example of honor and integrity for those with whom he served; and WHEREAS, He and his beloved wife, Kiley Frederick, were blessed with a son, Colt, and were expecting a daughter, Mayley; and WHEREAS, Jake Frederick was a devoted son, brother, husband, and father, and he leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Captain Jake Frederick; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jake Frederick.
