A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to municipal regulation of property of political
subdivisions.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Sections 211.013(c) and (d), Local Government
Code, are amended to read as follows:
(c) This subchapter does not apply to a building, other
structure, or land under the control, administration, or
jurisdiction of a political subdivision of the state or a state or
federal agency.
(d) This subchapter applies to a privately owned building or
other structure and privately owned land when leased to a political
subdivision of the state or a state agency.
SECTION 2. Section 214.904, Local Government Code, is
amended by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
(e) Each municipality shall adopt procedures for expediting
the processing of an application for a permit submitted under this
section by an independent school district.
SECTION 3. Not later than March 31, 2018, each municipality
shall adopt expedited procedures for processing school district
permit applications as required by Section 214.904(e), Local
Government Code, as added by this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect December 1, 2017.
