 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Sharon
 Nellums-Goosby of Houston, who passed away on July 11, 2017, at the
 age of 53; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Houston in 1964, the former Sharon Nellums
 attended Sam Houston State University, where she earned a
 bachelor's degree in business administration; she began her
 professional career in the social services industry, working to
 provide aid for families in need; and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan went on to accept a position as
 the academic records coordinator with the University of Houston Law
 Center; during her exemplary 18-year tenure with the school, she
 performed such vital functions as managing tutoring services,
 securing accommodations for individuals with disabilities, and
 assisting with registration and pre-graduation paperwork;
 respected by her students and colleagues alike, she put in long
 hours and consistently went above and beyond the call of duty in her
 efforts to help others; and
 WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, Ms. Nellums-Goosby
 shared 16 years of marriage with her husband, Joseph, and she took
 immense pride in her son, Jarvis; and
 WHEREAS, Although her journey on this earth ended far too
 soon, Sharon Nellums-Goosby touched countless lives with her warmth
 and kindness, and she will forever be remembered with deep
 admiration and affection by all who had the good fortune to know
 her; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
 Sharon Nellums-Goosby and extend heartfelt sympathy to her
 relatives and many friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sharon
 Nellums-Goosby.
