85S10802 BK-D By: Guillen H.R. No. 213 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The family and friends of Rebecca J. Barnett of Pleasanton have suffered an immeasurable loss with her untimely passing on May 15, 2017, at the age of 37; and WHEREAS, Born in San Antonio on April 7, 1980, Rebecca Barnett was the daughter of Terrye Ximenez and Lee Roy Meyer; after graduating from Pleasanton High School in 1998, she married her high school sweetheart, Jeremiah Barnett; she went on to travel with him during his career in the U.S. Marine Corps, before the couple returned to Pleasanton to raise their family; at home in Atascosa County, she was employed as a deputy assessor collector in the local tax office, where she cheerfully served her fellow citizens for many years; and WHEREAS, Ms. Barnett cherished her role as a mother to her children, Hunter and Brandi, who brought her immense pride and joy; her kind heart and playful spirit made her beloved by all who knew her, and she inspired everyone around her through the courage and determination that she displayed in the last few years of her life; and WHEREAS, Although the loss of this vibrant and caring woman is difficult to bear, Rebecca Barnett brought a light into her loved ones' lives that can never be extinguished, and she will forever hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Rebecca J. Barnett and extend deepest condolences to all those who mourn her passing; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rebecca Barnett.
